What is an Exploit?

Exploit
An exploit is a piece of code, a sequence of commands, or a software tool that takes advantage of a security vulnerability or flaw in a system to cause unintended behaviour, typically leading to unauthorised access or other malicious outcomes.
Exploits can be used to deliver malware, escalate privileges, or exfiltrate data. Attackers often use exploits as part of larger attack campaigns, while security researchers may develop exploits to demonstrate vulnerabilities that need to be patched by developers.
